Algonquin Flight Centre is located in North Bay, Ontario, Canada. In many ways, we are located in an ideal area for flight training. Northern Ontario provides four diverse seasons of training: From the warm bright sunshine of summer to the cool white sheen of winter snow, AFC operates and trains year round! |

Our location at North Bay's Jack Garland Airport gives us access to Northern Ontario's premier airport facility:

Two paved runways (one of which is 10,000 feet long) |

Soft field training in the summer |

The airport is also home to Gateway Helicopters, Helicopters Canada, Canadore College School of Aviation, Voyageur Airways, and the Bombardier CL-415 water bomber assembly plant |

Our practice area is located at the edge of the North Bay Air Traffic Control Zone therefore transit time between takeoff and actual training time is at a minimum. This helps our students save money because there is less travel time between take-off and the time their instruction actually begins. We have large training areas for un-congested practice. While local air traffic is relatively light, our students benefit from having access to a variety of flight training situations in one convenient location and will also have the opportunity to share airspace with Air Canada Jazz, air ambulances, charter aircraft, and business jets.
Algonquin Flight Centre's summer float training operation is situated at the majestic Trout Lake. Only a 10-minute drive from the airport, Trout Lake and a large number of secondary lakes and rivers, provides ample space for float and ski plane operations. |
